Pulamaipithan had a big name at the time of late Kaviyarasu Kannadasan, and was big competitor to poet Vaali.
At ?Ayya Vazhi? audio launch function he raised his voice against remix songs culture. The function was graced by veteran singers, musicians, and lyricists like S. Janaki, M.S. Viswanathan, K.J. Yesudas, Pulamai Piththan, and Muthulingam.
