Tata Sky+ – Personal Video Recorder (PVR)

Tata Sky, a joint venture between the Tata Group and Star announced Tata Sky+, a service that uses the personal video recorder (PVR) technology.

PVR allows subscribers to watch a particular television show while recording another. Viewers can also pause and rewind live television programmes.

Personal video recorder (PVR) A digital video recorder (DVR) is a device that records video in a digital format to a disk drive or other memory medium within a device.

PVR set-top boxes will use MPEG 4 compression technology, which are priced at Rs 8,999 ( existing Tata Sky subscribers will get PVR at discounted rates)
