Play House – Mammootty Production and Distribution Company

Malayalam film superstar Mammootty has started a production and distribution company named Play House.

“The name of the company itself means theatre. It would produce both stage dramas and commercial films.” Mammootty told reporters.

Mammootty and Mohanlal Afraid Of Nayanthara ?

After Kuselan, south sensation Nayanthara has done another cameo as actress Nayanthara in the Malayalam film 20 Twenty.

Twenty 20 will feature almost every actor from Malayalam cinema including the big three  Mammootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi  and young actors of Malayalam cinema like Pritviraj and Jayasurya.

Malayalam duo superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal did not want to be featured opposite Nayan as they feared she would steal their thunder, according to a timesofindia report.

Padmapriya to go bald – Nandita Das, Shabana Azmi Way!

Actress Padmapriya does a Nandita Das — Padmapriya will now go bald for a Malayalam film titled Kuttyshranku, in which she pairs up with Mammootty.

According to the story Padmapriya will be playing a Buddhist monk in the film and so, will be tonsuring her head for the role.

Nandita Das and Shabana Azmi have all sported a bald look in movies so, Padmapriya’s decision is bold !

Poorna, the new Asin..”Chinna Asin”

Actress Poorna makes her debut in Tamil cinema with the film Muniyandi Moondram Aandu Vilangiyal(MVM) opposite Bharath.

Actor Vijay at the audio launch of MVM took place at Chennai and said that Poorna reminds him of Asin. Being a Malayali by birth, Poorna is very close to Gopika and hence Gopika had referred Poorna for the role.

Poorna, whose previous name was Shamna Kasim, had acted opposite Mammootty and Mohanlal in Malayalam films and is the latest heroine migrated from Malayalam to Tamil. She will become the first Malayalee Muslim born and brought up in Kannur, to debut in Tamil cinema.

After the success of Em Magan, director Thirumurugan joins with Bharath again in this film titled Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moonram Aandu. Poorna is pairing with Bharath in this film. Vadivelu will do his usual role in this film.

Twenty20 Movie – every actor from Malayalam cinema

“Twenty20″ film, India’s first cinema to be produced by a film Artistes, Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).

Twenty 20 will feature almost every actor from Malayalam cinema including the big three — Mammootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi – in the lead. South Indian sensation actress Nayantara is also part of the movie.

This historic venture is to raise funds for the association. Twenty20 is under production. Rajinikant and Kamal participating in Twenty20 is not yet official.
