Kamal Hassan’s 30 short films On Chennai

One of the Best Actor in India, Dr Kamal Hassan plans to produce, direct and act in short films – based on Chennai, Tamil Nadu capital.

“It would be about 30 short films about this city called Chennai.” said Kamal Hassan.

Titled Chennai, 30 short films will be produced by Kamal Hassan. These 30 short films will be scripted by participants of the Chennai International Screenwriting Workshop.

Oscar winning French scriptwriter, Jean Claude Carriere, experienced director and film producer V. Hariharan will guide some of these short films.

Violinist Kunnakudi Vaidhyanathan Dies at 73

Violinist Kunnankudi vaidhyanathan passed away yesterday(September 8th) at a private city hospital in chennai, He was 73. He experienced a sudden ailment and he was admitted in hospital and was kept under emergency care before he died.

He is considered by many to be an arresting and innovative violinist in the Carnatic Genre. He was awarded the prestigious “Padma Shri” title by the Indian government, “Sangita Mamani”, “Best Music Director” award and more than 200 other awards.

Kunakudi Vaidyanathan made a speacial appearance in the 2005 Tamil blockbuster movie Anniyan directed by Shankar.

Kuselan Gets U Certificate, Releases July 31st

Kuselan, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam super hit Katha Parayumbol has been censored. With no cuts, The Regional Censor Board in Chennai has given it a clean ‘U’ certificate.

Kuselan is releasing worldwide on July 31, by Pyramid Saimira. Kuselan releases less number of theaters compared to Rajinikanth’s last blockbuster movie Sivaji.
