Bollywood beauty, Bipasha was voted the Sexiest Asian Women in a recent poll published in The British newspaper Eastern Eye has said she would go on a date with the boxer Vijender Kumar if he brings a gold medal for India at the Beijing Olympics.
According to Rediff, Bipasha told Aaj Tak after a reporter informed her that Vijender is a great fan of hers..
I have heard that he is a great fan of mine and I promise that I will go out on a date with him if he brings gold for India.
Abhinav Bindra Wins Historic Gold Medal at Beijing Olympics
India’s Abhinav Bindra won historic ever individual Olympic gold medal at Beijing XXIX Olympics on Monday(August 11 2008) with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the men’s 10 metres air rifle event.
India, winners of 8 hockey gold medals, had never won an individual Olympic title before Abhinav Bindra’s success. India’s last Olympic gold medal was from hockey (8th gold) at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Indian President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and leaders across the political class hailed the gold medal winning.
Abhinav Bindra’s mother Babli Mishra said
We are very proud of our son. He has done a great thing for the country. We will be rushing to Delhi to receive him when he returns on Thursday,
Aamir Khan to be Olympic torch bearer in Delhi
Coca-Cola India recently announced torchbearers for the Olympic Torch Relay and present among them was Actor Aamir Khan.
Being a brand ambassador of Coca-Cola, Amir has been selected as one of the 6 torchbearers who will run with the Olympic Torch in New Delhi.
Apart from Aamir other five torchbearers are
- Dr. Narayan G Hegde- President, BAIF Development Research Foundation.
- Dr. Kiran Bedi ? noted officer in the Indian Police Service (IPS) and founder Navjyoti foundation,
- Ravi Singh- Secretary General & CEO, World Wildlife Fund India
- Atul Singh -President & CEO, Coca-Cola India.
- Y. Subhash Chandra Reddy- environment champion who is working at the grass root level.
