Diesel Spring-Summer 2010 women’s collection

The chemical reaction between contrasting elements of fire, water and air settles with the new Diesel Spring-Summer 2010 women’s collection.

This season heat and coolness collide to create one prismatic style – incontrovertibly Diesel. The impetuosity of fire, the freshness of water and the transparency of air reveal Diesel’s clashing spirit and all its facets. The passionate side and the joyful attitude of the brand merge together in the Spring-Summer 2010 collection.

Let’s get fired up! Fire-fighting princesses brave the blaze in ripped bull denim, tops emblazoned with flame graphics, smoked leather jackets and fire red sequinned dresses. Slender silhouettes are perfect for delicate rescue missions: strap and tape effects imply that these girls will hold it together. Denim is smoked, destroyed and seems to have experienced a raging fire. Suede, mixed with linen, has an understated durability while ‘badly dyed’ cotton jersey has a distressed look. Pants are narrow and cropped. Shiny stretch satin and crepe viscose seem ready to melt from the intense heat.

After their fight with fire, girls dive into the water to relax blending shades from misty white to azure. In the blue, Diesel’s iconic denim plays a prominent role thanks to light weight Turkish style pieces, all-over printed and hard bleached jeans. Women become blue maidens combining pieces with trompe l’oeil necklace graphics and coloured striped tops or choosing a faded denim jumpsuit. Dresses are free and loose, with dropped backs and relaxed necklines.

Women are then carried along by currents of fresh air. Loose tees and swishy dresses are perfect for high summer wear. Graphics are strong, with New Age, tropical palm and blurry flower prints. A mosaic pattern traces the outline of a mysterious face on tees while colours range from white to striking and bold.
