Tamil film industry is organizing a hunger strike on Friday, April 4, to condemn the attack on Tamils by pro-Kannada outfits in Karnataka on the Hogenakkal issue.
On Tuesday evening the TFPC has directly issued an order saying that Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, who has his strong roots in Bangalore, should take part in the fasting and show his ‘sympathy and loyalty’ with the Tamils.
According to reports Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has asked Tamil actors and technicians who are of Kannada origin like superstar Rajinikanth, Action King Arjun, Prakash Raj, Murali, Prabhu Deva and his brother Raju Sundaram should also take part in the one-day token fast.
Will Rajinikanth take part in the hunger strike ? this is the only question rounds in Kodambakkam.
Over the Cauvery issue in 2002, South Indian Film Artists Association, under Vijaykanth held a protest rally in Neyveli near Cuddalore, except the superstar Rajini all leading Tamil stars participated in the Neyveli rally.
Rajini has his own hunger strike under a ?shamina?, the next day. Rajnikanth, lashed out by saying that what their protests could achieve when the Cauvery issue could not be solved even by the Supreme Court. What Rajnikanth said is true.
Now nearly 6 years after this incident, again Superstar Rajinikanth is in critical situation on the same cavery issue.
Media should understand that there is no point in criticizing Superstar in this issues, they should avoid igniting problem between tamils and kannadas – This is a sensitive issue which could lead to big riots.
Nationalization of Indian rivers is the only way to solve the inter-state water disputes.
Yes, it is true.. what Rajini can do in Cauvery Water Dispute issue…
I think it would be very awkward for Rajini to say anything that might incriminate either his native state or the one that is providing his livelihood. On the other hand, I don’t think Rajini is capable of boldly stating what he thinks is right or wrong — I assume nobody in such a situation can.
