After a huge speculation for long years, Telegu megastar Chiranjeevi on Sunday announced his entry into politics and said pro-poor policies and social justice will be his party’s main agenda.
Speaking at a press conference with a backdrop hoarding the portraits of Ambedkar, Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Pule, he expressed his wish to serve the people and said that it is former President Kalam who’s inspired him to join politics. Chiranjeevi also mentioned he’s been infuenced by his predecessor N T Rama Rao.
“I may not have experience in politics. But I have a heart to understand a poor man’s problems. I have the intention to help and guts to bring a change. I am more bothered about my people’s livelihood. APJ Abdul Kalam and NTR inspired me !” Chiranjeevi said.
In a career spanning three decades and 140 plus films, Chiranjeevi’s filmography is a mosaic dotted with different genres of cinema which have spelt commercial success at the box office.
As scheduled, Chiranjeevi addressed media conference at 2.45 PM at his newly constructed Party office at Road No. 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Clad in white dress, Chiru posed for media photographs for a brief while, minutes before addressing the media. Marking this occasion, there was huge fanfare outside the office. The fans blasted crackers and shouted slogans, “Future CM, Chiru. Chiru Zindabad.”
Party’s name, agenda and flag at Tirupati
“With regard to the Party’s name, agenda and flag, I shall be declaring these matters at a public meeting on August 26th at Tirupati. This day happens to be the birthday of Mother Teresa. My sole aim is to make Andhra Pradesh into Santosha Andhra Pradesh and Chiru Navvula Andhra Pradesh” said Chiranjeevi.
