Jobless Asin devotes time to painting

Gorgeous southern beauty Asin moved to Bollywood after Ghajini’s blockbuster success in Hindi. But her second venture London Dreams with Salman Khan did not recreate the same box office success.

After London Dreams, she has no Bollywood films in sight and become jobless. But, in 2007 she was the #1 actress in Tamil Cinema industry.

Asin has loads of free time at present, so she is trying to devoting her free time to her childhood hobby — painting.

Asin is a painter and has even had exhibitions of her paintings before joining the film industry and took lessons from the acclaimed painter T.Kaladharan who is also guru to renowned painter Bose Krishnamachari.

It seems, Asin had her first exhibition at the age of seven.

Asin on Award Winning Spree

Asin made her debut in Bollywood, with ‘Ghajini’, the remake of its Tamil namesake, subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.

Ever since then Asin has gone on an award winning spree.

The recent being, ‘Lux–Sabse Tez Sitara’ for an upcoming and promising star in the film industry.

Reveals a source, “Asin has big brands behind her name. She made her debut with Aamir Khan and the next film saw her with Salman Khan. She is a classic beauty and has a long way to go in the industry. The ‘Sabse Tez Sitar Award’ is well deserved.”

Asin recently also received the Kalaimamani Award from the governor of Chennai for her contribution to arts and cinema and the Anandalok Award (The biggest award ceremony in Kolkata) for the best actress for ‘Ghajini’.

“The Kalaimamani award is given for one’s excellence in the field of art and literature. Down south Asin has already bagged 2 Filmfare Awards making her the recipient of a total 3 Filmfares at such a tender age,” adds the source.

Asin to pair with Vijay

Both the actors Vijay and Asin have paired together in ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri’. Now we hear it from sources that Vijay has approached Asin for his next untitled film, which is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

South Indian actress Asin shot to fame in Kollywood with ‘M. Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi’ and later stepped higher pairing with almost all the superstars. With her Bollywood debut ‘Ghajini’ turning to be a blockbuster, the actress continually received more offers from Bollywood.

Regrettably, the actress refused those offers, since she had already signed for Kamal Haasan’s period film ’19 Steps’. But later as the project was shelved, Asin had no options other than approaching the same filmmakers, whom she had rejected earlier.

Since, those projects have already started rolling with heroines finalized; the actress has decided to make her re-entry in South Indian film industry. Till now, nothing has been confirmed about her presence in Vijay’s film, but it looks like she will surely sign this project since producer Aascar Ravichandran offered her a chance to pair with Kamal Haasan in his previous production ‘Dasavatharam’.

Asin – I’m busy in Bollywood but ready for Tamil offers

Only good scripts can impress Asin now. Yeah! The South Indian actress has become busier with Bollywood projects and looks like she’s occupied with busy schedules till next year. She has been out from Tamil films since long but now she is planning to make a come back.

The actress was recently herein Chennai to receive the Kalaimamani awards from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Interacting with media channels on this occasion, Asin said, “I am so elated for TN Government honoring me with the prestigious title of ‘Kalaimamani’.”

“Right now, I am much busy with Bollywood projects but would surely accept Tamil offers, if there are good scripts….”

The actress also came up with a rigid statement that her recent release ‘London Dreams’ won her rave reviews. Regrettably, the film witnessed lukewarm response results at box office and film critics made their open comments that Asin hasn’t got much prominence…

This does indicate about her going back down south.

Deepika Padukone in Ashutosh Next – Replaces Asin

Deepika Padukone will now be doing the role in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se that Asin turned down. She is excited about working in a period film with Ashutosh Gowarikar and has started preparing for her role.

Deepika was chosen after Ashutosh considered Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza for the role. Asin left the film citing date issues but in reality, she is getting choosy about films since her last film, London Dreams flopped.

The news about Deepika being a part of the film was confirmed by Ashutosh’s wife, Sunita.

It looks like troubled times are here for Ashutosh Gowarikar. First, his film, What’s Your Raashee? bombed. Now, Asin has decided to back out of his next film, Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se citing date issues.

She was supposed to play the female lead in the film opposite Abhishek Bachchan but she has chosen to walk out of the film as she is not very pleased with the script. At first she was very excited about the film but when she heard the script, she didn’t like her role in the film anymore. Also, her film London Dreams isn’t exactly a box office scorcher. And after Ashutosh’s film didn’t do well, she doesn’t want to take any chances and would rather walk out.
