After the London audio launch , Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya Audio is launched in India by actor Kamal Hassan and music composer A R Rahman at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai. Three songs and a trailer of the movie were screened at the event.
Directed by Gautham Menon Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) stars Silambarasan and beautiful Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. Trisha pairing Simbu for the second time. Gautham Menon and A.R.Rahman is joining for the first time.

Rahman’s VTV album – world premiere in London

Sony Music India’s has done a world premiere of A R Rahman’s Tamil album Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) in London on Dec 19. AR Rahman, Gautham Menon, Simbhu, Trisha and all the singers were present.
It is the first Tamil film for which AR Rahman had scored music after winning the Oscar award.

VTV’s music CDs and cassettes will be released across the world via Amazon’s online retail store. The music will also be available digitally on iTunes, Nokia Store, and iPhone application.

Oscar winner musician A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) has assembled international faculty at his world famous KM Music Conservatory.

Alison Maggart (harp) is from Tennessee (USA) and has attended Eastman School of Music (New York, USA). Michael Lindsey (percussion) is from Indianapolis (USA) and has studied at DePauw University in Indiana (USA). Kavita Baliga (soprano) earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Irvine (USA) and her Masters from Boston Conservatory (USA). A R Rahman is CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2009
The CNN IBN Indian of the Year 2009 award was given to Oscar Award winner Ace musician A R Rahman by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sais that A. R. Rahman’s music is an inspirational. He added that when he heard his songs in the White House, he had a sense of joy and achievement.
“It is a triumph for music. I hope it inspires more people and lessens the divide,” said the Oscar winning music maestro.
A R Rahman was also declared the recipient of the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2009 in the Entertainment category.

A R Rahman gets two Grammy nominations

Music maestro AR Rahman has bagged two Grammy nominations for his compositions in the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire.
Nominated for the first time at the Grammy’s, ‘Mozart of Madras’ Rahman won two Oscars for Best Original Score and Best Song, a BAFTA for Best Music Director.
The 52th edition of the Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Jan 31 2010.
