Dasavatharam releases with 1,000 prints – bigger than Rajini’s Shivaji

Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam which is releasing today (June 13 ), is expected to hit the screens with around 1,000 prints in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. In Kerala it is releasing in 75 screens, while in Andhra in 250 screens.

In non-southern markets movie is beeing released with about 60 prints with sub-titles across the country- the largest release a regional film has witnessed.

Theatres in Chennai are screening around 45 shows a day in 21 theatres as opposed to Rajinikant’s Sivaji, which was released last year in 17 theatres.

Kamal Hassan is making a comeback after two years… so, anticipation for the film has skyrocketed so very high.

Bipasha Basu says no to Hollywood – WHY ?

29 year old model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu “The sexiest Asian women” is not interested in debuting in Hollywood movies.
She has been offered to act in Sir Ben Kingsley’s film on the Taj Mahal — but she said no. According to her moving to Hollywood would mean starting a new career.

“In Hollywood, I have to start from scratch. I have worked very hard to build my name here(Bollywood) and I’m happy with the kind of work that I’m doing “, said Basu — according to Reuters.

Nayantara joins Vijay’s Villu shooting

Nayanthara has joined the shooting of Vijay’s forthcoming movie in Villu in Pollachi area. After completing her work in the movie Kuselan, she has joined the shooting of Villu.

Movie is directed by actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva, this film is the Deepawali release of Vijay. Cinemaphotography is done by Ravi Varman and Devisri Prasad scores music for the film. Actor Arun Pandiyan produced the film for Ayngaran International.

Three National awards for Tollywood – Kamli, Hope, Kittu

Telugu movies has a prominent presence with three movies bagging awards at the 54th National Film Awards announced in New Delhi.

1. Kamli - Best Feature Film in Telugu
2. Hope - Best Feature Film on social issues in Telugu.
3. Kittu - Best Animation Film Award in Telugu.

James Bond Daniel Craig injures at Quantum of Solace shooting

James Bond star Daniel Craig has reportedly sliced off the top of his finger during shooting on the next James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.

The incident reportedly occurred while he was filming an action sequence at London’s Pinewood Studios.

Quantum of Solace is the 22nd spy film in James Bond film series, due for release in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2008 and in the United States on 7 November. It is the sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale, which rebooted the series. Columbia Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp, is the distributor of the film.
