MohanLal says – Rajini Fans Did Not Accept Guest Role in Kuselan

Kuselan unexpectedly failed to impress audiences and lead the box office race, despite the huge success of its original Malayalam version Katha Parayumpol written by veteran Sreenivasan.

Mohanlal superstar of Malayalam Film Industry has opined that Kuselan’s failure is due to Rajini’s guest appearance.,

Superstars like Rajinikant and Kamal Hassan are larger than life. Their die hard fans won’t accept them in guest roles. But I can get away with small cameos, offbeat roles, anything.

There are some actors in this country like Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Hassan and Rajinikant who are beyond success and failure. If you say I am one of them, then I too am blessed.

Vijay Learns From Kuselan, Keeps Low Profile

Vijay appears as Actor Vijay himself in Panthayam movie. Panthayam stars Nitin Sathya, Sindhu Tolani, Prakash Raj and Vijay in special appreance. Nitin acts as Vijay’s crazy fan who comes to his shooting spot as he gets into a problem.

Considering what happened to Kuselan, Vijay has been kept low profile in Panthayam publicity. Vijay did not wanted to create huge expectations with his fans like kuselan, so he did not even attend the audio launch of film which is directed by his father S.A. Chandrasekar.

Producer of Panthayam decided not to release the stills of Vijay to the press, because it will create huge expectations among Vijay’s fans. Distributors have been advised not to sell the film to theatres saying it is a Vijay film.

Britney Spears NOT to perform at MTV Video Music Awards

The troubled pop queen Britney Spears who was believed to be making a comeback appearance at the this years MTV Video Music Awards next month, is not going to take to the stage. Her long-awaited comeback turned out to be a huge disappointment in last year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

According to a BBC report, Spears manager Larry Rudolph has denied the reports and said

Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year’s VMAs.

She’s recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio.

Nayanthara alias Diana Mariam Kurien

Actress Nayanatara is a Kerala-born Christian girl from Tiruvalla (born 8th November 1984), and her real name is Diana Mariam Kurien , she had done her B.A. in English Literature and when she was preparing for Chartered Accountancy she made her way into film.

Her debut Film was in Malayalam with Manassinakkare, which was directed by Sathyan Anthikad opposite Jayaram in the year 2003. Then her next film was Vismayathumbath by Fazil, she was the female lead in the Film opposite the super star Mohanlal. This movie gave her lot of popularity. Then again she came in a film called Natturajavu , here again she was paired with Mohanla. This film not only gave her fame but also made Nayanatara as a pet name.

Then the sexy hardworking Nayanatara made a grand way into Tamil with the co- star Sarat Kumar in Ayya and along with Rajinikanth in Chandramukhi.

Nayanatara and Simbhu together worked Vallavan which was successful. then Her films like Laksmi, Tulasi and Dubai Seenu were Telugu, which did well at the box office. Tamil and Telugu made her the super star of whole South India.

Venice Film Festival at Venice Lido

The world’s oldest, Europe’s most glamorous running film festival opened in the Italian coastal city of Venice, with the premiere of the much talked about Coen brothers Burn After Reading. Hollywood actors George Clooney along with Brad Pitt, is in Venice to showcase new film ‘Burn After Reading’ at the Venice Film Festival.

Filmmakers from around the world have submitted their works for the competition. There are 21 movies competing for the coveted Golden Lion.

This year’s festival is dedicated to Egyptian filmmaker Youssef Chahine who died last month at the age of 82.

Superstar Rajini To Do Another Quick Movie ?

If reports are to be believed then Superstar Rajinikanth could do a quickie movie like Kuselan which will be released in 2009.

Rajinikanth’s Robot directed by Shankar will be released only in 2010. Since Soundarya’s Sultan- The Warrior is an animation film, fans may not welcome it.

Kuselan made unnecessary burden on his superstar image with distributors and theatre owners, So Rajini is considering a quickie. Rajinikanth has sorted out the Kuselan issue, Rs 7 crore will be paid as compensation for the theaters to cover the losses.

According to reports Rajini is looking for a trusted director including director Murgadoss to do the quick movie.
