Chennai Marathon 2008 – Surya, Kanimozhi Cheers
Chennai held MARG Chennai Marathon 2008 on Sunday and around 1.70 lakh people hit the streets enthusiastically in the running gear. Actor Surya, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi MP was present to cheer and run for a cause.

The marathon will provide education and health care to 13,000 children. G.R.K. Reddy, Chief Managing Director, MARG, the chief sponsor, described the Chennai Marathon as a historic event.
Sadly, 22-year-old engineering student died due to cardiac arrest after reaching the finishing point.
Air Deccan Renamed as Kingfisher Red
Now, low cost airline Air Deccan being rebranded as Kingfisher Red. Friday onwards, Deccan is operating under the flight code IT instead of the current DN. Deccan’s code DN is being discontinued.

Vijay Mallaya founded Kingfisher three yars ago, which is a part of UB group. Low cost Air Deccan, launched in 2003 by Capt GR Gopinath had less frills than other airlines, which made middle class Indian to afford air travel.
Hairstylists Protest Against Kuselan
After theater owners and distributors Tamil Nadu’s hairstylists association launched protest against the Rajini starrer Kuselan director P. Vasu.
Around 200 people for hairstylist’s body staged protest in front of P.Vasu’s house on Friday, who were arrested by police and later released.
“Kuselan has insulted profession of hairstylists through unfair comedy“, said the protesters.
Sarah Palin, Former Beauty Queen – VP Candidate
Sarah Louise Palin,44, Governor of Alaska is the Republican US vice presidential candidate for the November 2008 election. Presumptive Republican presidential nominee McCain chooses female Sarah as his running mate. She and John McCain will take on Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Republican Sarah Palin was elected Alaska’s first woman Governor in 2006. Now 44, she’s also the youngest in state history.
Gov. Palin grew up in Wasilla, where as star of her high school basketball team she got the nickname Sarah Barracudafor her fierce competitiveness. She led her underdog team to the state basketball championship.
In 1984, after winning the Miss Wasilla contest earlier that year, Palin finished second in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant which won her a scholarship to help pay her way through college. In the Wasilla pageant, she played the flute and also won Miss Congeniality.
